The Sinful Nature: Why So Many Believers Continue to Struggle

I want to talk a little bit about Christians and the sinful nature because I don't think a lot of Christians, or Believers, really understand what it is. Yes, I've mentioned this before,but want to revisit it again. This so important. We often look at the individual things we do—lying, gossiping, backstabbing, refusing to help someone, or other sinful acts—but we don't always look at the root cause behind those actions. The sinful acts are the fruit. The sinful nature is the root. Many Believers continue to fail because they never address the root. They allow certain sins to become habits. They become habitual liars, habitual gossipers, habitual backstabbers, and so forth. Sometimes we don't even recognize these things as sin, so we never address them. Troubles..........No Problem

Hello: There was a time when I wished that life would smooth and easy, free from pain, sickness, and sorrows – free from troubles. I always thought “If I could live on my own personal island, just for me, life would be as it should. I look at my kids and wish they’d never know a day of pain, sickness or lack. Children should be free to run, skip, jump, and play without “bad stuff”. I use to say “I’m never having children. Why would I want to bring a living person into this world?” The world is not always fair, kind or without heartbreak or hardships. When I was growing up, the older people would say “If you haven’t been through anything, just live awhile”. I didn’t know what they were talking about then, but now that I’m grown, have my own husband, children – my own life – I get it! Old Writing - May 9, 2006

Good Morning! I want to encourage you today to stay on the side of "good". The Word tells us that if we are "lukewarm: that He (God) will spit us out of His mouth. I'll be the first to admit, cause I'll tell on myselft first, that I have the tendency to "straddle the fence" in some things. Not that I don't believe God can handle it , but what it is is that it, the situation, seems to be too big for me. This life He's put before us to walk is not difficult, for He will never put anything on us that we can not bare. He can and will do the impossible in all of our lives. So fight the good figtht of faith always. Stay on the side of good, for this is a battle that we fight everyday. We do not fight against flesh and blood, but against evil spirits in high places. Light Rejected!

Studying again in the book of Ezekiel , I’ve been reflecting on how the Holy Spirit, through the prophet, spoke of the destruction of Assyria and Egypt . In my reading of the Swaggart Commentary , considerable time is devoted to these nations—nations that had direct dealings with Israel, Judah, and Jerusalem . They had opportunity to know who the true God—the God of Israel—was, yet they rejected Him. The Pharaohs began to declare themselves gods. They continued in idol worship. Though they were given light, they chose darkness. And when light is rejected, eventually light is removed . As I considered this, my thoughts turned to America . We were once a great beacon of God’s light—spreading the Word of God throughout our nation and across the world. But look at where we are now. We are in a very dark place. Refocus!

Well praise the Lord. The first month of this New Year is about gone. Many of us have set goals, reaching for new opportunities and are making changes to better our lives. I have set health and fitness goals to eat better and tone this year. But so many times we focus on the outside, and we forget about the inside. Yes eating healthy is good for my inside, but I’m talking about our hearts, our spirit man. Fitness has never been a problem for me; I love my workouts and do them every day. I couldn’t say this about “feeding my spirit”. So I have set a goal of reading more of the Word of God and giving Him more of my time. We all get busy with life. We have our families, jobs, businesses, school, groups and clubs. We busy ourselves with so much stuff, but never slow down and give God the time He so greatly deserves. God Knows Your Beginning & End - October 18th

God is good all the time! Don't you think it's awesome that God knows how many hairs are upon your head? Just think about it (unless you don't have any - LOL ). It is awesome that God knows your beginning and your end. He knows the thoughts He has towards you; they are thought of good and not of evil to give you a hope, a future, and expected end. Hmmm ...........an expected end??? When we "expect" something, we "look to" the occurrence or appearance of something. We as children of God should "look to" or expect good things to come to us and happen to us. God desires for our beginning to our end to be good. But there's something called "free will" - our ability to make a choice. Our lives are full of choices 'Do I go to church this Sunday or not?' or 'Do I cook tonight or eat out?'
