Old Writings - May 8, 2006

Hello:

Remember when you pray to pray His Word. Also remember that you can roll all of your cares over on Him. He is willing and able to take care of anything for us. Nothing is impossible with Him to those that believe.

Living Water Scripture:

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6.

Law vs Grace: What is Law?

Law vs Grace: Part 2 When we talk about the law in Scripture, most people immediately think of the Ten Commandments or the laws given through Moses on Mount Sinai. These laws include moral commands, civil regulations for Israel, and ceremonial practices such as sacrifices, festivals, and rituals (Exodus 20; Leviticus; Deuteronomy). But before God gave Moses the law, humanity had no written standard. People knew certain things were wrong—like murder—but there was no formal, God-given definition of sin. The law changed that. The Law Defines Sin Paul explains that the law was given so we could see sin clearly: “By the law is the knowledge of sin.” — Romans 3:20 The law acts like a mirror. It shows us what is wrong in us. It reveals our failures, our shortcomings, and our inability to meet God’s perfect standard. The law itself is holy, righteous, and good (Romans 7:12), but it exposes the sin within us. The Law Condemns, But It Cannot Save The law was never meant to prov...

The Sinful Nature: Why So Many Believers Continue to Struggle

I want to talk a little bit about Christians and the sinful nature because I don't think a lot of Christians, or Believers, really understand what it is. Yes, I've mentioned this before, but want to revisit it again. This so important. We often look at the individual things we do—lying, gossiping, backstabbing, refusing to help someone, or other sinful acts—but we don't always look at the root cause behind those actions. The sinful acts are the fruit. The sinful nature is the root. Many Believers continue to fail because they never address the root. They allow certain sins to become habits. They become habitual liars, habitual gossipers, habitual backstabbers, and so forth. Sometimes we don't even recognize these things as sin, so we never address them. We may even tell ourselves, "Well, I got saved, so Jesus took care of my sins. I'm covered. Once saved, always saved." But that is not the answer. "A little leaven leavens the whole lump....

God, My Deliverer - October 18th

Praise the Lord! How powerful is your God? How awesome do you think your God is? Is your God on your side? Are you on God's side? These are questions to think on. All of us have troubles or hard times . None of us are exempt form this. The Word of God says that He has come that we might have peace, in this world we will have tribulations (trials, hardships, situations), but we are to be of good cheer; for He has overcome the world (and will help us do the same). God loves us whether we make the right decision(s) or the wrong one(s). Romans 8 tells us that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God - whether we have calamity or trials - nothing can separate us from His love. Now if we make the wrong decision, it does not exempt us from reaping the outcome of our wrong decision. But God will love us through it and can deliver us from it. That's the why I asked if you were on God's side. If you decide to steal, and God's Word says though shalt n...

It's A New Day, A New Year, A New Season

Good Morning! Happy New Year!!!!!!!!! I know that many of you have made "new year resolutions" and have vowed to stick to them this time. I pray God that you have made the choice to continue in Him this year as well. Not only to continue in Him, but to mature and grow in Him - to trust Him this year. We are going to have to trust the Lord like never before. We are going to have to trust that the thoughts and plans that the Lord has towards us are thoughts of good/peace and not of evil. We are going to have to know who we are as the children of God and walk it out. We are the Righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. I pray that in your making of resolutions this year that you have stop playing and get about the things of God. The enemy is busy; he is working to get our eyes off of the Lord. We have to remain sharp in the things of God. Things are happening all around us not only personally, corporately, but worldwide. People are killing each other like never before. There...

Choose Life So You May Live

Today is my birth day (birthday). I am thirty-two (32) years old today. I am very thankful to have the life that I have. It is a very blessed life. God has given me the authority to speak blessing in, over and around my life. God is so good. He has equipped you and I to live this life that we have been given. Life is precious, and God wants and has given us the tool to succeed in this life. Is my life perfect, absolutely not; but my life is good. I have a good husband who loves me very much and would do just about anything for me. I have a beautiful daughter and hopefully a handsome son will follow. I am surrounded by loving family and friends. I have a Lord over my life that has provided everything I’ll ever need, and sent His son, Jesus, to die for me so that I may live a happy, healthy and prosperous life in Him. He has given us His Word to stand on and to speak in, over and around our lives. We have to make the choice to choose life and not death. We have to choose to speak blessin...

Law vs Grace: Introduction

I'm doing a nine (9) part mini-series on Law vs Grace. Many believers struggle to understand the difference between law and grace . We know both concepts are in Scripture, and we know both come from God, yet we often confuse their purpose. When I speak of “law,” I’m referring to biblical law —the commandments, statutes, and regulations given through Moses. But I’m also referring to the laws we create for ourselves: the rules, habits, and personal systems we rely on to feel righteous, safe, or spiritually stable. The truth is simple but often misunderstood: The law was never given as a means of salvation. It was given to define sin and reveal our need for God’s mercy (Romans 3:20). Grace, on the other hand, is God’s answer to our inability to keep the law. Grace is His unearned favor, His covering, His mercy, and His power working in us through the Holy Spirit. Grace is not permission to sin—it is the divine strength that helps us walk in obedience without condemnation (Roma...
