Hello: There was a time when I wished that life would smooth and easy, free from pain, sickness, and sorrows – free from troubles. I always thought “If I could live on my own personal island, just for me, life would be as it should. I look at my kids and wish they’d never know a day of pain, sickness or lack. Children should be free to run, skip, jump, and play without “bad stuff”. I use to say “I’m never having children. Why would I want to bring a living person into this world?” The world is not always fair, kind or without heartbreak or hardships. Focus on the Good

Well Happy New Year!!! Another year has come and gone! We’ve had good times and not so good times. In life, the not so good times can overshadow the good times. The not so good cut us the deepest and can be louder and longer lasting than the good times. Some of us dwell of the bad much more than we do the good. The Year 2015 has definitely given us plenty of bad stuff to dwell in our country. Racial tensions are the worst I’ve seen in my 39 years of living. Trust has diminished drastically with law enforcement. Unarmed black men being killed/gunned down by those who are serve and protect. Innocent people are being murdered in what should be the safest place on Earth – A Church. The Confederate Flag being removed that represents part of this country’s history – good and bad, but neither side tries to understand the other’s point of view. GET UP!

Proverbs 24:16 states: Even if godly people fall down seven times, they always get up. But those who are evil are brought down by trouble. Whether you fall into sin, because of disappointment (in yourself or due to others) or because you feel like you have failed – GET UP! Now, we as Children of God do not habitually (knowingly, practice) sin either (1 John 3:6 NIV). Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only one plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. Praise the Lord! We as children of God, as the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus have the ultimate weapon – The Word of God! It is so important that we study the Word of God in these last days. The enemy is roaming around seeking those he can devour. He desires to get your eyes off the prize which we will receive when Jesus comes back for His own. Now is not the time to fall to the wayside or let the cares of this world cause us to give up, cave in and quit! It’s time to pick up the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God and began to wield that sword skillfully in the name of Jesus, and that ‘ol slew-footed devil will cease in his maneuvers and stop in his operations against us. Well, Praise the Lord! We just celebrated one of the most important days in the Christian Faith - The Ressurrection of Jesus Christ. If anyone tells you that Jesus was just a "good man", they are sadly mistaken and WRONG! Don't let them tell you that Jesus was not God; He was God made flesh. Just as I wear many hats (Shan the Wife, Shan the Mother, Shan the Daughter - Thanks mom for the clarity), God is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God said "Let US make man in our image." If someone tells you that Jesus is not worthy of your praise, well............. I'll keep my opinion on that and say just pray for them. He gave His LIFE so that we can boldly enter the Throne Room of God; so that we can be reconciled back unto Father; so that we can call God - Father, Dear Father (Abba Father). Turning From Sin - September 24th

Praise God! There is now no condemnation to sin to those who belong to Christ Jesus, and we belong to Christ Jesus. Aren't you glad this day that you belong to Him, and He belongs to you. He is everywhere that we go; He never leaves us or forsake us. Sin is a stronghold in our lives that does not line up with the Word of God. If you're not sure if something you're doing is sin, then compare it with the Word of God. If what you're doing is opposite of God's Word, then it must be sin. And for those who know to good/or do what's right and does it not, it is sin. And don't think for one second that because you go to church every time the doors are opened, you're reading your Bible everyday, or doing good deeds/works that you are saved if you are sinning in an area of your life.
