To See His Face

You know, this life can deal us an affair hand. It can seem so unfair even to us that believe. As some of you know we recently moved from Virginia to Georgia. I loved Virginia, and I didn’t want to move. This move seems to be nothing but problems. I registered the kids for school, and Dorrien has had a hard time adjusting. No matter what we do, it’s seems like we can’t get ahead. I had to take Dorrien to the emergency room, and I recently found out that I have an iron deficiency – low iron count. Only One Type of Faith!

Jesus said in Luke 18:8 , “When the Son of Man returns, will I find Faith on the Earth?”   He did not say faiths as in more than one, but Faith – singular.  This tells me that we must have the right Faith or rather our faith in the right thing.  Faith is another word for trust, confidence, hope, and belief among many others.  So, this Faith that Jesus will be looking for must be something that we trust and can have confidence that it is ours and more importantly; that it worked/works.  Think about it...  What is the one thing, as far as our righteousness is concerned, that gave us right standing with God and that had to work for us to receive said righteousness?  The answer is Jesus dying on the Cross of Calvary.  What the Word of God says that He accomplished on the Cross for us HAD TO WORK!  We must trust and have confidence (Faith) that what Jesus died on the Cross for worked for us (personally).  In more simpler terms, you mu...

Born Again, Life of No or Yes???

A lot of people think that becoming a Christian, being Christ Like, means there are a lot of "No's". Many people believe that you can't do this and you can't do that. That is not the case. Yes, there are some things that you will stop doing or saying because they would be displeasing God. For instance, you wouldn't go around cursing/swearing, speaking ill of others or to others, sleeping around with everybody or killing. It's some of the same things that Mom and Dad taught us not to do. God's way, His Word, gives us the strength to withstand the evils of this world that are no good for us anyway. Cursing, speaking ill of someone, gossiping or backbiting can get your feelings hurt or worse beat up : |. Sleeping around or with someone else's spouse or significant other can get you an STD, beat up too or worse killed. A Vow

Well Praise the Lord! This blog post is one of those “ouch hallelujah” posts. It’s good to hear, but definitely not one of those “good feeling” ones. But if you’re like me and love the correction of the Holy Spirit in your life, then you’re gonna like this one. Ya’ll know I always tell it on myself, and I love to share the good and the not so good that I experience. Well it was the Holy Spirit not me; He’s always sharing tidbits with me. When you know better, you do better. Most of you know, especially if you follow me on FaceBook, that I am taking the Beach Body Insanity Challenge. I am on day 47, and I am doing well – seeing results. I made a vow, promise, a commitment that I was going to see this to the very end. This was a personal vow, and I have stuck with it. I get up every day and make time to work out. I dig deep, sweat and recover. It is an intense workout, but I still come back the next day for more. Unused Word of God

As I wrote to you last week, there is a devil out there that is trying to destroy you. He doesn’t want you to win! He wants you to quit this race. He wants you to give up, be cast down and utterly destroyed. He comes in like a roaring lion seeking those he can devour (1 Peter 5:8). He can come in the form of a person or a situation. We, Christians, are destroyed by our lack of knowledge of God’s Word (Hosea 4:6). And the reason he’s able to come into our lives is because we are not reading (so we can learn), not doing (to build up our faith), and not speaking that which the Word of God says who we are, what we can do and what we can have. I want to talk about two (2) things in God’s Word that we are either not using or not using to the full (not saying or doing it every day). We might not know what the Word of God says or casually use the Word of God or we might not be fully persuaded that God can do it for us. Second Chances

You know, sometimes when I’m alone and its quiet I think how lucky I am to know God, His Word. I am lucky to be surrounded by those who know and love Him like I do. I’m surrounded by those who are able to impart into my life when I am down. I know that I am blessed to have God and people that know and love God in my life. I know that God loves me unconditionally, and I have people that love me in spite of my shortcomings. I guess I am smart and lucky to have surrounded myself with people like that in my life, and have removed those who do not. I love my mom; she is always there to turn me back in the right direction. I love that she doesn’t let me get away with anything! She is a By-the-Bible type of mom, and if what I am doing or saying doesn’t line up with the Word of God, she will definitely let me know. She also lets me know when I’m talking “crazy” or “like a fool”. I love you Mom for not “sugar-coating” anything for me because God doesn’t sugar-coat anything in His Word...
