Be Ever Watchful

Hello:

Just want to keep a fire lit underneath us about the things that are going on around us; to keep us ever vigilant in the things of Christ. I know that you believe as do that Jesus Christ will return for those that belong to Him. Though none of us know the hour, day or year that He will return, we do believe that He is coming again. Matthew 24:4-8:

4Jesus answered them, Be careful that no one misleads you [deceiving you and leading you into error].
5For many will come in (on the strength of) My name [[b]appropriating the name which belongs to Me], saying, I am the Christ (the Messiah), and they will lead many astray.
6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.
7For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place;
8All this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the [c]birth pangs [of the [d]intolerable anguish].

We are seeing these things even now, but this is only the beginning. These things must happen. We as children of God must be ever watchful ever vigilant in the things of Christ. We must take the time to examine ourselves to make sure that we are walking upright before God. No we are not perfect, but we do not habitually sin either meaning that we do not knowingly say and do things that are not pleasing in God's sight. Pastor was speaking about the five (5) wise and five (5) foolish virgins; about how the five (5) foolish didn't have enough oil thus missing the bridegroom. Everyone has to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling; everyone must have enough oil for themselves. NO ONE can get you into Heaven, but you. My husband can not pray me into Heaven. He can pray for me until he turns blue in the face, but if I don't make the personal choice to make Jesus Lord and Savior, then I will not make it into Heaven. It has been said that there are pastors that are preaching that there are other ways to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven other than Christ - NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!! Jesus is the only way! He is the way the truth and the light.... It is sad because the sheep are being mislead and taught ways other than Christ, and they are trusting their pastor's words as truth. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, Jesus, that who so ever believe on Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I was reading an article in Newsweek - The End of Christian America? -and it stated that the percentage of self proclaimed Christians has dropped by 10 point/% in the last two (2) decades. The Word of God tells us that there would a great falling away. The Word of God also tells us that even the elect, those who know the Word of God, will be deceived. I believe this will happen because we have become laxed in our values and in maintaining our relationship with our Father God. It doesn't bother us if we miss a day praying, reading or seeking Him. We act as if it's ok, but it's not (I'm talking to myself here too - and I know better). I know the things that are to come. I continuously pray that the Holy Spirit stay on me - yes, I am pregnant and about to give birth, but that is not an excuse. There has also been mention of a New World Order - aaahhhhh!!! But don't be frighten........this is only the beginning, and these things must come.

Continue to be watchful! Continue to examine yourself every now and then. Keep the lines of communication open between you and the Father at all times. Remember to set aside some time for the Father each and everyday (start off small - 20 mins, 30 mins an hour or more). Remember Jesus loves you, and He is coming back for those who belong to Him, for those who look like Him. No one can get you into Heaven, only you can make this choice.
